ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

What is the enrolment procedure?

To enroll it is necessary to:
- Complete the enrolment form available on the website www.fashionuptodate.com
- After being selected you will receive an answer from the admissions office.
- Send by fax or post a photocopy of your identity documents, e.g. a passport.
- Carry out the payment of the enrolment fee.

What is the role of the Admissions Office?

To inform and support the students at the following stages:
- knowledge of the Academy
- orientation towards the best course/program according to students needs
- help with bureaucratic procedures by offering information and getting in contact with international offices.
- support on the accommodation issue, supplying contacts with residences, hotels and students accommodation

Do I need a health insurance to study in Italy?

If you need a visa for entering Italy, according to our nationality and to your stay length, the Diplomatic Representation (Embassy/Consulate) will offer you all info about the health insurance requirements.

What about the courses deadlines?

There are no deadlines but the sooner you apply for enrolling, the more possibilities you have to get a place in the course/programs you are interested in. If you have to apply for a visa, please remember that the procedure can take up to three months.

What are the requirements for admission into the Academy?

The requirements for enrolling to Fundamental courses, Academic Programs, Specialist Programs and Summer Courses are the following:
- Minimum 18 years old.

The requirements for enrolling to the Fashion Trend courses are the following :
- Minimum 18 years old.
- Diploma, professional/training qualification or work experience in the sector
The requirements must be approved by UptoDate during the enrolment phase and students must provide their certificates by fax or email.

What is the accompanying letter?

Before entering the Academy we need a copy of your CV so that we can see clearly any study or work experience you have previously had.

What do I need in order to apply for a visa?

After you have been admitted into the Academy you will receive some of the documents you need for the visa application.
Among the others, you must present the following documents at the Italian Consulate/Embassy in your country before entering Italy:
- A certificate of enrolment into the Academy.
- A copy of the bank transfer for the payment of the enrolment fees.

Are Non-Eu students allowed to get a job during their study in Italy?

Non-Eu students who stay in Italy for more than 3 months need to apply for a stay permit for study reasons.  With this stay permit, students are allowed to work part-time for a maximum of 20 hours per week or 1.040 hours per year.

PAYMENT

What does the enrolment fee cover?

The enrolment fee includes:
- Administrative expenses for booking the course.
- Teaching Material.
- The Academy's booklet.
- The enrolment certificate.
- The certificate of attendance.
- The diploma.
- Accident and Civil liability.
- Student assistance via email.
- Student assistance during their stay in Milan.
For Non EU students the enrolment fee is higher to cover administrative expenses occurred in creating contacts with Diplomatic Representations and/or Immigration Authorities for helping students with their application.

How can I pay?

Payments can be made by either bank transfer or credit card. Tuition fees must be paid 30 days before the course begins

For those who wish to enter the Fashion Industry and the World of Cosmetics and are looking for gaining a basic practical and theoretical knowledge.

For whom are the Fashion Trend courses?

For those who come from a professional background or who have already studied some Fashion and/or Cosmetic fundamentals.

For whom are the Academic courses ?

For those who wish to receive a complete 360° knowledge of their sector so that they can enter the Fashion/Cosmetic world with an up to date advantage that makes them extremely employable.

What is the Academy's methodology?

What materials are provided? What materials do I need to buy?

The Academy provides a booklet in Italian and English and a folder with pen and pencil.
For the Photography course you need to use your own digital camera.  It is not necessary to buy all the products, accessories and equipment used by the Professors during the course. The Secretary will directly provide a list of all shops where you can get a discount for buying the materials not directly provided by the Academy.


LANGUAGE

If I'm a foreign student. How will I understand the lessons?

The lessons are taught in Italian and English, giving the students a deep knowledge of both languages used in the Fashion World.


DIPLOMA

What will I receive at the end of the course?

The Academy is a private institution which is supported by important institutions abroad and in Italy. At the end of the course the student will receive a certificate of attendance that can be presented to companies in the sector.

Will I have to do an exam?

At the end of the course/program there will be an exam.

WORK EXPERIENCE & PLACEMENT

Is there a Placement Office?
Yes, we have a Placement Office that will help students to find training/working opportunities.
Are there work possibilities for non Italians in Italian companies?
There are many possibilities for foreigners to find work in Italy. Fashion and Cosmetic companies in Italy are always looking for talented foreigner experts for their international market.

How will I have the opportunity of working?
The Placement Office will help the students by creating contacts with specific sectors, in order to help them entering the professional environment as fast as possible
